Fiona – Director

Registered Veterinary Nurse, NCert SA Nut, NCert Cons

I started in practice in 1991 under the tutelage of Jill and went on to be head nurse in a large mixed practice before working for a pet nutrition company and the pharmaceutical industry for many years. My sister and I then did something completely different and opened a farm shop and sandwich bar in Ripon before selling up and returning to veterinary practice in 2016.

I keep busy with my family (husband Mark and daughters Jess and Livvy), Peggy the border terrier and 2 very naughty cats, Mr Pants and Olly. I love spending time with friends and family and going away in my old scabby camper van.

I bake a lot and always take the blame if anyone gains weight at work.

Katy – Director

BVMS, MRCVS

I have been a qualified vet for over 14 years, graduating from Glasgow Vet School in 2008.

I spent time in mixed practice in Scotland before realising my strengths and interests are in small animal work. I have now spent 10 years in dedicated small animal first opinion practice.

Life outside work is busy with my young family (currently 3 and nearly 1) and my 2 cats, Spook and Catcat. Spare time is limited these days but I am usually out walking with the kids, at the park, baking or the odd trip back up to Edinburgh to see my Mum, Dad and Brothers.

Always smiling and happy

Hi, I’m Lucy, one of the vets here at Boroughbridge Vets!

I qualified from the Royal Veterinary College in 2020 after studying a bachelor’s degree in bio veterinary science, and have worked in small animal practice since!

I spend most of my free time playing sports, hiking, in the gym or keeping my little Lakeland Terrier Connie out of mischief!

I look forward to meeting and getting to know you and your pets!

Frankie Greensit RVN

Spends every spare minute training her many dogs

I qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse Dec 2021 but have been working in veterinary since 2017. I enjoy all aspects of the job, but find intensive inpatient care can be very rewarding helping animals get better.

In my spare time I enjoy helping on the family farm, I also have my own flock of pedigree Hampshire Down sheep. When I’m not on the farm I enjoy walking with my dogs and clay pigeon shooting.

Jill (Tiny)

Indispensable and can do everything in practice but especially loves to control the budget and look for good deals

I have worked in Veterinary practice for nearly 40 years and worked with Fiona when she was first starting out as a veterinary nurse, teaching her everything she knows.

I love the variety that comes with my job as no two days are ever the same.

When not at work I like to go belly dancing and line dancing to keep fit and enjoy quizzes, especially music ones.

I have 3 wire haired dachshund (Mabel, Maude and naughty Norman) and a lovely husband, Dave. They are all bonkers and enjoy long walks.

Julie (Jules)

Veterinary Nurse Assistant (level 2). All round amazing person

I have worked in Veterinary Practice for 16 years and have recently passed my Veterinary Nurse Assistant level 2 qualification.

I grew up on a farm with my Dad’s sheep and Grandad’s horses and developed my love of animals then.

I love caring for animals and my ambition is to become a fully qualified Veterinary Nurse.

I have 8 grandchildren, husband Dave and the love of my life, Winston, the rescue Staffy.

Baking for my family, biking , running and keeping fit are what I do out of work and my dream is to share a miniature Donkey with my sister.

Sally

Veterinary Nurse Assistant (level 2). Calmly gets the job done, especially the insurance forms!!

I have recently moved to Langthorpe with my 2 sons having grown up with family pets, dogs, chickens, guinea pigs and a rescue cat who was only going to live with us for a few weeks which ended up being the next 13 years!

I was lucky enough to have a pony and this is where my love of horses began which also led to getting my 2 boys into riding and pony club mounted games.

I have my own ‘rescue’ horse who is spoiled rotten and spends most of his time munching grass and relaxing. I also enjoy walking and occasionally can be persuaded to go for a run.

I love working with animals and have worked in Veterinary practice on and off for the last 20 years. I especially like helping clients with their insurance claims and solving queries.

Cool and calm under pressure

The Covid pandemic changed my working life. I went from working in IT project management to volunteering during the pandemic and eventually working in the veterinary world. A completely new venture for me where I am constantly learning. Every day is a school day.

I enjoy keep fit, I have even been known to go out for a jog now and again. I have recently joined a choir, the repertoire is mostly modern music which is great fun. I love to travel and thankfully the world has opened up again to allow people to do this.

I have a two year old grandson who keeps us very busy when he stays with us.

Noah

Has wanted to be a vet since he was a youngster, now living the dream

I’m going into my 4th year of studying veterinary medicine at Liverpool University and want to pursue a career in small animal veterinary practice after I graduate.

I am really looking forward to learning from the team and having the chance to practice my clinical skills.

I love being in small animal practice, especially the surgery and getting to know clients and their pets.

In my free time I enjoy helping on the family dairy farm and clay pigeon shooting, I am on the university team.

Joh

Keeps the business side neat and tidy and loves spreadsheets

I live in Boroughbridge and can often be found walking along the river with my husband Andy and our fabulous Springer Spaniel ‘Pickle’. Having had cocker spaniels previously I know that a pet is a huge part of family life.

I have previously worked in Veterinary Practice supporting the clinical side and I love to see all the different pets coming and going, chatting with their humans and, if I’m lucky, getting a puppy cuddle.

Outside of work I love to see my grown up children, go walking and occasionally run.

Gill

Our go to guru for all things behavioural

Hi, I’m Gill. I’ve worked in Veterinary Practice for over 20 years.

I started as a student nurse in 2001 and qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2006.

I enjoy Practice Nursing and Client Care and have a particular interest in ensuring your pets veterinary experience is as stress free as it possibly can be.

Outside of Veterinary life I live with my partner, daughter, dog, cat and 2 guinea pigs.

I also run a holiday let in Northumberland.

I love to visit Northumberland as often as possible and walk with my dog Darcy along the beautiful coastline.

Natasha

When she isn’t at work, you will find Tash in the milking parlour
I have recently completed my foundation degree in Veterinary Nursing at Askham Bryan and am awaiting my results to become a Registered Veterinary Nurse.
I enjoy all aspects of Veterinary Nursing but particularly enjoy nursing and looking after the smaller animals, especially rabbits.  After finishing college I am travelling to Africa to volunteer with a Veterinary Charity studying and treating wild animals.
In my spare time I like to work on the dairy farm and attending my local young farmers.

Lucy

Lucy lives at Allerton Park on her partner’s family farm. She loves helping during lambing season and watching her little ones take an interest in farming life!

Until recently, Lucy had her own dog grooming business, which she loved but missed having colleagues, hence the career change. She has always liked the idea of working in a veterinary practice and hopes to start her Veterinary Nurse training in the near future.

Days away from work are spent with her children, Maisie and William, out and about on the farm with their two Labradors, Lottie and Flo.
